Cord blood stem cells are being used in all types of new medical treatments. While much more research is needed to uncover all their uses; doctors currently use these cells in therapies and transplants.
Embryonic stem cells have a great deal of ethical dilemmas facing their use. Cord blood stem cells would normally be discarded, therefore the medical community and the public has accepted their use to a much greater extent.
